How I convinced myself to the idea of penning a blog

To be quite honest, i didn't think of writing a blog because i didn't know if my blog would be impressive enough given my limited writing abilities, coupled with the laziness and the fear of keeping the blog alive with regular posts

well, i decided to break the ice on this holy day (if you are wondering, its made-holy-by-this-launch)

some reasons are as follows (in no particular order):
  • i realised (better late than never) the power of the blog in making your opinion and voice heard and also importantly, record your opinion for eternity rather than leave it, saying its the brain's headache to store and retrieve it...
  • For now, its a fashion statement :)... but it'll be a benchmark in the times to come... i mean, in a couple of years, if you dont have a blog, people are gonna ask, 'Hey, butt-head, you don't even have a blog?'
    • if i discontinue writing this blog, at least i'll have a saving grace - ' i started writing it but....... ' :)
  • i was wondering lately how much i'm being bombarded by information - the newspapers, magazines, TV, and the WEB, of course - an info overload... that keeping focus on a subject has become increasingly difficult.. i getting nowhere and diverted too easily by any interesting new piece of information... i'm having difficulties telling my 'area of interest' nowadays -- so i thought i'll make others lives miserable too by adding to the information overload
  • a blog is the best way to consciously make an opinion, both in coherence and in totality... i figured out i'm not so good at making opinions if i read too many things from very different areas - and this way, i can narrow down my focus to the topics i choose to write on
  • i didn't have a broadband connection and the time - as a combo, previously (its a genuine excuse)
  • i somehow feel a high on this particular day :)
  • and finally, what the heck, my writing skills will obviously improve in course of time!!
    • and in the worst case, if no one reads it, it'll atleast end up as my onliepersonal diary :)
(please bless/encourage/discourage me by commenting on this first blog entry of mine)

Wow !! I too have my own blog now :)

ok... ok... Lets keep the first post sentimental.. lets go the hindu traditional way of launching something...

**** hindu gods' names taken ****
**** slokas read ****
**** coconut broken ****
**** blessings of elders and well-wishers taken ****

All right, get set, ready, go !!

(I wish myself happy blogging :) )
